Easy Apron

So it's been awhile since we've posted. Yeah, I guess life gets in the way sometimes of blogging. Anyway, I whipped this up today for a birthday gift. I was able to use ALL scrap fabric. It took about an hour and was very simple.

Here is the link to the pattern/tutorial if you'd like to try it. Trust me, it's very simple!

BOGO on a dresser!

OK, so I had to show this off. It's a double doozie, a two-fer if you will. Jessica did the framed birth stats and I did the lamp. I had no idea doing a custom lampshade would be so easy! The ball fringe makes me feel like I made my own leg lamp (A Christmas Story, anyone???), and it's totally awesome! Jess gave me the frame at my baby shower, errr, Amelia's coming out party. Fun times!!!

Amelia's Shutters

So I found these old shutters at my favorite new antique store. Unfortunately the store closed a month later. Figures. I've had them for about 2 years now just hoping and praying one day I'd need them for a girl's room. And now I need them!!! OMG!!! I have a little GIRL!

The fagric on there was totally ugly, so I just got a small rosebud print fabric, ripped out the old junk and just stapled it on there. I also put some khaki muslin behind it because the sun would wipe the pretty fagric out in a matter of months.

The hard part will be getting Will to put them up. But for now, they lean just fine. :)

OMG I'm blogging!!!

That's right, I'm a complete V when it comes to blogging... but isn't it fascinating that the very thing that inspires me to blog is FAGRIC?! That's right, faGric - the rest of the world may think they're saying that word properly, but my kids and I know differently.
I can't blog about fagric without mentioning my fantastic sewing machine... the Baby Lock Ellageo (say it with a British accent and it sounds even cooler). The first pictures I'll post are of some things I've embroidered or monogrammed: a set of pillowcases for my Nanny Ruth, a placemat purse for my friend Rhoda, some tshirts and a nightlight for my little Amelia (well, Lorien's little Amelia). I'm fully addicted both to the machine, and to Baby Amelia, which makes for a dangerous combination, and for you a lot of reading ahead. : )

The Craft Mafia Begins...

We're starting this blog to post pictures and instructions of different crafts we complete while we stay at home with our kiddos. Here is a dresser I found at a consignment store. It was honey oak and I simply spray painted it and then distressed it with sandpaper. It's now a focal point on our patio.
